The pictures do not do justice to this magnificent Serapi rug and cannot convey its stately character. The spacious design is balanced by harmonious and restful colors ranging from a serene pale green, to salmon-red and pure ivory. The medallions expanding from the center are contained by opposing spandrels in each corner of the field and a border with a crab motif.
